What does business sustainability mean to you? What do you think sustainability should mean to businesses?

To me business sustainability means fulfilling todays needs without compromising future generations. To businesses sustainability should mean actively and transparently working on ways to minimize negative environmental and social impacts while maintaining fiscal viability.

What sustainability challenge would you most like to solve?

I would love to play a role in continuing the explosive growth of resale and second hand fashion. I would also love to play a role in ending fast fashion.

Who do you admire for championing positive change through business?

I admire every entrepreneur focusing their business on sustainability for championing positive change through business.

Moving forward, how do you plan to use business as a force for good?

Moving forward, I plan to use my business NC State New Life Clothing as a force for good by encouraging second hand fashion, educating about sustainability in fashion, and inspiring the Wolfpack to be part of a sustainable fashion future.

What do you think are some challenges with sustainable businesses or becoming a sustainable business?

The most important challenge to overcome with sustainable businesses is showing the world how sustainability equals profitability.

What’s your advice for fellow students who might be interested in sustainability, but don’t know where to start?

My advice to those who might be interested in sustainability but don’t know where to start is to start more conversations about sustainability and focus on positive change more than what’s wrong in the world.
