Launch Your Career in Corporate Sustainability with a High-Impact Experience
Are you ready to turn your passion for the planet and society into a professional edge? The Future Business Sustainability Leaders Fellowship is a premier co-curricular program designed for Poole College of Management undergraduate students. This experience starts in the summer and ends during the fall semester.
As a participant, you won’t just learn about sustainability—you’ll lead it. You will work with global teams to help real companies achieve B Corp certification while building a professional network that will support you long after the program ends.
Program Goals & What You’ll Do
Our mission is to provide you with the hands-on experience and mentorship needed to thrive in the modern green economy.
- Hands-On Consulting: Work with a real company through the B Academics Summer B Impact Teams Program to improve their social and environmental performance.
- Professional Mentorship: Get paired with an NC State alumni mentor currently working in corporate sustainability for personalized career guidance.
- Industry Immersion: Participate in exclusive summer field trips to meet sustainability leaders like Burt’s Bees, local B Corps, and major corporations in Research Triangle Park (RTP).
- Career Development: Engage in the NC State Sustainability Career Development Program to access ongoing resources and professional networking.

- Practical Skill Acquisition: Master the fundamentals of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and ESG (Enviornmental, Social and Governance) strategy by completing a real-world gap analysis and recommendation roadmap using the B Corp certification framework.
- Expanded Network: Build meaningful connections with global peers, alumni mentors, and sustainability leaders.
- Career Readiness: Gain the clarity and confidence to pursue high-impact internships and career pathways in the sustainability field.
- Portfolio Deliverables: Receive a final B Impact Team Project Report and a professional certificate of completion to showcase your expertise.

FAQ
When does the program start and end?
The program starts with the B Academics Summer B Impact Teams program in June and ends in July. You will continue in the Fall with field trips, mentorship and participating in the Sustainability Career Development program.
Do I have to be located in Raleigh over the summer?
No, the summer program and mentorship will be completed virtually. Fall will include in person field trips.
Do you receive a stipend or hourly pay for this program?
None.
Can I participate in the program if I already have a summer intership?
Yes you can still participate. The B Academics Summer B Impact Teams program is complete virtual and flexible based on the team availablity. That being said it is up to you to manage your time in the summer and work with your team to schedule meetings appropriately.
