Hack Your Way to Innovation

Join Hack NC State for a FREE overnight hackathon where students from ANY university can compete in our Urban Noir-themed tech challenge. Think detective story meets innovation—use technology to solve real-world problems in an exciting 24-hour competition.

What to Expect

Teams of 2-4 students build original tech projects from scratch based on their chosen track (social impact, fintech, data science, and more), then present to judges who’ll select the best overall. Everything must be completed during the event—no outside work allowed! Don’t have a team? No problem! We’ll host a team formation session to help you connect with other participants.

Who Should Attend?

All skill levels welcome! Whether you’re a seasoned developer or complete beginner, students from any university can participate in this premier tech hackathon.
