About the B Corp Clinic
Have you ever wondered how companies become B Corps? B Corps—like Warby Parker, New Belgium Brewing, and Patagonia—are “for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.”
Since 2015, the NC State B Corp Clinic has engaged over 480 students to help over 100 companies from around the world improve their social and environmental impact. Since Spring 2021 the B Corp Clinic is offered as a graduate level practicum course, MBA 582.
Each company is matched with a team of graduate students from the Poole College of Management and across the University. The team uses the B Impact Assessment (BIA), as a tool to measure and drive impact. The BIA is a free, confidential platform designed to help measure and manage a company’s positive impact on workers, community, customers and environment.
Real World Impact.
The B Corp Clinic has worked with 480 students on 108 projects and helped companies make progress on over 2,500 points towards certification, including 34 companies that have become B Corp Certified.
