Southeastern Student Sustainability Conference 2025

April 4 | 8:00 am - April 6 | 5:00 pm

The Southeastern Student Sustainability conference brings together students engaged in campus-based climate and sustainability initiatives from around the region. This event is meant to facilitate knowledge sharing, connection, and community building as we each seek to address common challenges and opportunities on our campuses.

The conference has three primary goals: Knowledge: Understanding sustainability—what it means, what’s happening on your campus, what’s happening on other campuses, and the research driving these efforts. Networking: Building connections—meeting others working on sustainability initiatives, exploring how these efforts intersect, creating a network locally, and expanding it beyond. Visioning: Planning next steps—determining how to move forward, identifying actionable takeaways, and deciding what to bring back to your campus after the conference.

This site will continue to be updated as the conference approaches so be sure to check back for more information!

Registration

Conference registration can be accessed at  events.duke.edu/sssc2025 . The registration deadline has been extended to February 21st, 2025, but it may close sooner if conference capacity is reached, so be sure to complete registration as soon as possible.

Please note that the form requires separate submissions for each individual that will be attending.

Cost: Students – $50, Staff/Faculty – $75

If cost is a concern, send us an email at sssc2025@duke.edu and scholarships to cover attendance fee will be awarded on a rolling basis. To ensure we can cover the attendance fee for the highest number of prospective attendees, please make sure to consult your institution first for travel/accommodation funds and conference grants. We recommend staff advisors to arrange group travel accommodations for their institution’s attendees.

The conference will begin at 6:30pm on Friday, April 4th at Millennium Hotel Greenbriar Ballroom (2800 Campus Walk Ave, Durham, NC 27705). Events will conclude on Sunday, April 6th around noon.

A detailed schedule will be published by March so be sure and check back to learn more.
