The 12th Annual Duke University Energy Conference is a free online event that will focus on the theme of “Upheaval and Resilience.”

Join us for the 12th Annual Duke University Energy Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 11​ ​featuring virtual keynote presentations, moderated discussions, and networking sessions with industry experts. This free online event series will focus on the 2020 theme of “Upheaval and Resilience.”

We invite energy professionals, students, and thought leaders to join us to reflect on the disruptions that the energy sector has encountered in recent months – and to learn from individuals, companies, and institutions who have responded to these changes with resilience. Industry experts will share insights on how to adapt in the face of pandemic-related disruptions as well as climate change’s intensifying impacts and the need for more just and equitable approaches to energy systems.

  • 10:20 -11:20 — Duke Talks (three 20-min speakers)
  • 11:20 -11:30 — BREAK
  • 11:30 -12:30 — Research Poster Presentation & Table Topics**
  • 12:30 -12:40 — BREAK
  • 12:40 -1:30 — Keynote: Wes Edens: Armchair Dialogue with Husein Cumber
  • 1:35 – 2:40 — Breakout Session: (1) Energy Enabling Development – A look at Energy’s Role in Sustainable Development, or (2) Energy in a Year of Disruption – A Look at 2020 and Beyond
  • 2:45 – 3:45 — Closing Keynote: Carmichael Roberts: Armchair Dialogue with Sidney McLaurin
  • 3:45 – 3:55 — Closing Remarks

Can’t make it? It’s okay to register even if you can only attend part of the Conference program.

**You have the option to attend either the Research Poster Presentation (RPP) or Table Topics. RPP is a showcase of the top submissions to the Pratt MEMP Energy Club competition. Table Topics is an opportunity to engage with other Conference attendees in small “table” gatherings. All materials will be provided.
