Tim Kraft, assistant professor of operations and supply chain management, is seeing an emerging trend of increased supply chain transparency not only for risk management but for consumer benefits.

“For example, in my work with my colleagues at Fair Trade USA we found that consumers’ willingness to buy actually increases when fair trade products were presented with fact-based messaging about what was occurring in the supply chain,” said Kraft.
